Hello and Welcome to Sammons Injury Law

We are a boutique law firm located in the heart of Apollo Beach. I am attorney Trevor Sammons. For the past 10 years I have been working in the personal injury field of civil law. Practicing in this field is the result of a true passion I have for protecting those who have faced injustices, especially when they do not have the resources to fight for themselves. This passion was sparked early in my life and shaped by personal experiences highlighting the importance of advocacy and justice.

Growing up, I experienced firsthand the challenges of the civil legal system here in Florida

At a young age, I watched my parents make an extremely difficult decision when fighting for the educational rights of my older brother, Andrew, who has Autism, among other disabilities. The choice was to fight back against the local school board in Polk County, FL, that neglected to provide essential public education services to my brother or risk the possibility of losing in Court and going bankrupt in the fight. My parents, without any legal background, were compelled to undertake a formidable legal challenge to secure the basic rights my brother deserved.

This ordeal unveiled the grim realities of civil litigation and the difficulty in forcing entities to fulfill their legal duties. It was disheartening to witness my family deplete their savings on a lawsuit for services that should have been automatically provided. Despite the financial strain and the extended duration of this legal fight, we emerged victorious. However, without the commitment of exceptional attorneys on our side, the results may have been much different. This experience not only taught me the importance of perseverance, but also lit a profound desire to support the cause of those unjustly treated by the system.

Education Highlights

I attended Bartow Senior High School in Polk County, Florida. I excelled academically and graduated in the top 10 of my class winning a county-wide writing contest my senior year. This early success in a competitive county-wide event not only showcased my ability to articulate compelling arguments but also set the stage for my future work in advocacy.

After high school, I was awarded a scholarship to attend the University of Florida, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. During my senior year, I secured a priceless internship with a prominent NFL agent and attorney in South Florida. This experience gave me a unique insight into the world of professional sports management and the intricate contracts associated with professional sports. While this experience remains a cherished memory, it also led me to a pivotal realization: my true calling was in the practice of law, specifically in advocating for others.

About My Higher Education

After taking the LSAT, the law school entrance exam, I chose to attend Stetson University College of Law, where I earned my Juris Doctorate. It was during my time at Stetson Law that I began my venture into personal injury law, clerking for a Tampa-based firm. This experience is where I honed my skills and became well-versed in all the nuances of personal injury law. It introduced me to the complexities of injury law and the unfortunate reality of how individuals can be exploited by large insurance companies following accidents. It was a defining moment that solidified my commitment to becoming a plaintiff personal injury lawyer.

Over my career, I've learned the importance of not just advocating for my clients but also understanding and anticipating the strategies of the opposing side. My experience has taught me the significance of strategic planning and the value of a creative approach to solving complex issues. I take pride in my ability to navigate the complexities of the law and to fight tirelessly for the rights of those I represent.
